I’ve always been fascinated with game development and the concept of creating something that is fun and enjoyable. With that I began looking into some of the game frameworks available for the iOS platform. Without looking too far, the two most popular ones became obvious, Sparrow and Cocos2d. Ultimately, cocos2d won me over because of its inclusion of a physics engine, particle system and extremely active user community. Sparrow was a really close second. It seems to be an excellent, lightweight framework that is advancing quickly. As a matter of fact, I believe they recently added a particle system as well.
That being said, I began working on a project to become familiar with the framework and see where it would take me. With it I have created a fun little tapping app for entertaining the toddlers. Being that my daughter is not quite 2 years old yet, I felt I had the perfect beta tester for my target audience. So far, she seems to really like it. I have been judging success by how long it will keep her interest.
It’s still a work in progress but I will be submitting it to the App Store soon (once my kids approve it ).
I’ll post more information including screenshots, etc as I get closer to release. Thanks all!
